Scarlatti\, Pasquini\, Lully\, F. Caccini\, Marenzio\, Corelli\, Monteverdi\, and many others.\n\nAll concerts feature acclaimed period-instrument performers. Nine programs include music for voices\, orchestra\, and chamber ensembles and feature historical keyboards. Plus enjoy a deep-dive into Handel’s Italian journey with an extended lecture over coffee and dessert just prior to the finale concert.

DESCRIPTION:This hands-on\, practical session covers essential technical skills that help artists present their work professionally and safely. Participants will gain a better understanding of how preparation and presentation impact how work is received by galleries\, curators\, and jurors. \nTopics include:\n– Photographing artwork for documentation and submissions\n– Basic lighting and composition tips using accessible tools\n– Properly attaching hanging hardware\n– Packing and wrapping artwork for safe transport and storage\n– Best practices for labeling and inventory \nThis session will be led by two experienced professionals who bring both creative and practical expertise to the workshop. The photography portion will be taught by Charlotteville-based photographer Stacey Evans. With more than two decades of experience working with artists and galleries to document individual artworks and entire exhibitions\, Evans is passionate about helping creators present their work in its best light through approachable\, professional photography techniques. \nThe second part of the session will be led by Justin Brown of ARTWORKrs\, an organization dedicated to supporting artists with the tools and knowledge they need to prepare their work for exhibition and transport. Brown has guided countless artists through the process of properly packing\, protecting\, and installing their pieces\, helping them avoid common pitfalls while ensuring their work arrives on site safely and display-ready. Together\, Evans and Brown provide a well-rounded learning experience designed to give participants both the visual and logistical skills needed to present their work with confidence. \nThe workshop is available at $40 SSG members / $50 non-members. Our llama neighbors will be back this year and Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA! \nThe Barn Store will be open starting at 9am and local food vendors will be on site. Our walking trails will also be open for the season! \nFood Vendors: BBQ U and Taiga Pura Vida coffee \nImportant safety notes about Farm Animal Day: \nPlease leave your dogs and pets at home today! Our guardian dogs will be working closer to the barn due to the event\, and it helps us keep things simple. \nPlease be aware all our animal fencing is electrified. \nBecause this is a working farm\, we don’t allow touching the animals or entering the fenced enclosures. We want to keep all of our babies safe\, including yours! \nWe will be taking precautions against avian flu: if you have backyard chickens\, we will ask that you remain at a distance from our birds for risk mitigation.

We are expecting tulips to bloom between late March and early April. \nJoin us for picking\, photo ops\, and fun during our very first pop-up tulip farm! \nIn November\, we planted 175\,000 bulbs on over two acres of farmland. We expect the tulips to bloom between late March and early April for approximately three weeks. \nThe tulip field will be open every day from 10 AM–5 PM while flowers are in bloom (opening at 1 PM on Easter Sunday\, if it overlaps with the blooms). \nEach pass will include access to the tulip field\, five pick-your-own tulip stems\, photo ops\, and a sweet treat! Entry is free for guests under the age of 3 or over the age of 85.
