For Charlottesville-based coach and mother Yolonda Coles Jones, entrepreneurship is both personal and purposeful. As the founder of Empowered People® Coaching & Consulting, Yolonda guides parents, caregivers, and household leaders to live and lead with more calm, clarity, confidence, and connection. Through one-on-one coaching, group programs like Home IS School, and leadership workshops, her business supports families in cultivating emotionally resilient, relationship-centered home cultures.
Founded in 2020, Empowered People® is deeply rooted in Yolonda’s lived experience as a homeschooling mother, entrepreneur, and community advocate. Having launched The RESTORE Project, a nonprofit during the pandemic, she later shifted her focus to building Empowered People® as a sustainable, for-profit business offering transformational coaching and education.

Yolonda was inspired to launch her business after years of supporting other families while balancing the demands of motherhood, small business ownership, and social impact work. Her goal? To offer more than productivity tips or quick fixes—she helps clients lead from within. At Empowered People®, she creates space for reflection, growth, and intentional parenting rooted in self-trust and whole-person well-being.
