Shenandoah

World Premiere: Showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of Shenandoah at this event.
Witness the majesty of Shenandoah National Park through this mesmerizing, grand, and personal documentary. In 2019, Shenandoah National Park granted Virginia’s Orange Frame Productions exclusive access to film anywhere within the park. During this time, the OFP team scuba dived into mountain caves to film the elusive American eel. They climbed cliff faces to witness a peregrine falcon’s first flight and ventured far off the beaten path. There, they discovered the endangered Shenandoah salamander.
The Appalachian Mountains are shaped by constant formations, migrations, and transformations. The region’s diverse species, geology, and human history drives this constant state of change. These factors all play a role in the story of Shenandoah’s lush and fragile wilderness. It is a place that has evolved for millions of years and continues to adapt today. With stunning cinematography from two renowned National Geographic filmmakers, the film also explores the history of the park itself. It chronicles how the physical landscape and its cultural impact has shifted over time.
The film is dedicated to late director Jeff Boedeker, who unexpectedly passed away during production. Harnessing Jeff’s vision, Anna Boedeker (owner of Orange Frame Productions) continued the project as executive producer. She embodied his inspired pursuit to share never-before-seen perspectives of this unbelievable world.
