Charlottesville Ballet Academy

Charlottesville Ballet Academy: Dance Education for All Ages

Charlottesville Ballet Academy (CBA) is a center for dance education for ages 1.5 through adult. CBA opened in 2011 and is the official training school of Charlottesville Ballet. Charlottesville Ballet is central Virginia’s nonprofit professional ballet company founded in 2007 with a mission to elevate the art of dance through wellness, performance, education, and community outreach.

Daytime and Evening Camps Across Charlottesville

Charlottesville Ballet Academy is offering daytime and evening camps and classes at 3 locations in Charlottesville including its 29 North location at 1885 Seminole Trail, its downtown Ix Art Park location at 949 Second Street SE, and CBA is partnering with Charlottesville Parks & Recreation to offer dance camps and classes at Carver Recreation Center.

Expanding Access Through CB Moves

Charlottesville Ballet is also expanding access to dance for all in our community through our program, CB Moves. CB Moves provides dance instruction at no cost to students at our local public schools (Chance To Dance program), students with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or any other developmental and intellectual disabilities (Adaptive Dance program), and classes for adults diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (Movement for Parkinson’s). This program is key to promoting wellness–physical, mental, and emotional–and furthers the mission of Charlottesville Ballet.
