Where Art, Education, and Community Meet
At Foster Art, Charlottesville-area children aren’t just creating—they’re learning, connecting, and growing. The studio’s process-based curriculum supports kids ages 5–12, preschoolers through the Early Arts program, and post-high school students with neurodiverse needs. Founder Molly Foster, a longtime local art teacher, opened the doors to her dream studio in 2023 after years of running community-based day camps and classes.
A Teacher’s Vision, A Mother’s Drive
Molly’s inspiration came from the families she met as Hollymead Elementary’s art teacher, many of whom asked where their children could continue art over the summer. After 25 years in education—and raising her own son—she knew the value of creating a safe, enriching space where children could thrive. Foster Art was built from that dream, with help from family, friends, and the local families who believed in her.
An Inclusive Space for Creative Expression
What makes Foster Art unique is its commitment to emotional safety, developmental support, and expert instruction. With a team of six professional women, the studio blends teacher-led guidance with open-ended exploration. Molly’s background in psychology, art therapy, and education ensures that every student—regardless of ability—feels welcome, valued, and inspired.
Why Your Vote Matters
As a small, new business, Foster Art has limited capacity to market across platforms. Winning the Mompreneur Grant would provide professional guidance and broader visibility, helping Molly connect more families to high-quality arts education. She also looks forward to developing her skills as an entrepreneur so she can sustain this vital creative hub for years to come.
Vote for Foster Art to support a Charlottesville mom bringing creativity and connection to the next generation of young artists.
