CharlottesvilleFamily is proud to introduce the biennial CharlottesvilleFamily MOMpreneur Grant, an exclusive opportunity designed to empower and uplift mothers in business. This grant provides a comprehensive marketing package valued at over $5,000, including marketing consultations, digital promotion, print advertising, and social media exposure throughout 2025. In celebration of Women’s History Month, applications open in March, with public voting during Mother’s Day week. We are happy to provide a new avenue in the list of business grants for moms in Virginia. If you’re a MOMpreneur looking to take your business to the next level, this grant can help you gain visibility, attract new customers, and grow your brand!

Details of the CharlottesvilleFamily MOMpreneur Business Grant

Grant Amount

Marketing package to include marketing consultations and digital, print and social promotion in our local publications throughout 2025 valued at over $5,000.

Application Deadline

Applications for the 2025 CharlottesvilleFamily MOMpreneur Business Grant should be submitted via email by April 25, 2025.

This is a biennial grant. The next round of applications will be opened in Spring 2027.

MOMpreneur Business Grant Eligibility Guidelines

Applicants must have an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less and employ no more than 6 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff.

2. Years of Operation

Eligible organizations must have been in operation for at least 1 year but not more than 5 years as of the application date.

3. Prior Grant Funding

Organizations that have received any business or marketing grant from CharlottesvilleFamily Magazine in the past 3 years are ineligible.

4. Geographic Focus

Businesses must be based in and primarily serve communities within Charlottesville-Albemarle. May be located in an adjacent county.

5. Mothers

Need to be a part owner of 33% or more, actively involved in the business and have a child age 21 or younger.

How to Apply for the 2025 CharlottesvilleFamily MOMpreneur Business Grant

Evaluation Criteria

The finalists for the CharlottesvilleFamily MOMpreneur Marketing Grant will be selected based on:

  • Organizational impact
  • Marketing need and vision
  • Community reach and engagement
  • Potential for growth in organization’s capacity to serve

Schedule for the MOMpreneur Grant Process

  1. Call for nominations and applications from community through April 25, 2025
  2.  All finalist nominees will be highlighted in a CharlottesvilleFamily Magazine story online that will be heavily promoted.
  3. The community and CharlottesvilleFamily readers will be invited to vote on finalists May 11-20th. During this time, finalists should promote the voting process and encourage the community to support them by voting. Social media, sharing on your website and email newsletters are especially effective.
  4. Winner of the 2025 CharlottesvilleFamily MOMpreneur Grant will be announced May 23, 2025.
