5 Tips for Visiting a Virginia Flower Farm

1. Time Your Visit Wisely

The best time to visit Virginia flower farms depends on what is growing. Spring is prime time for tulips and daffodils, while summer brings zinnias and lavender. Fall is for dahlias and wildflowers. Check a farm’s website or social media before your visit to ensure peak bloom.

2. Dress for the Outdoors

Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a little muddy, especially after rain. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential and pack a water bottle.

3. Teach Kids to Be Gentle Gardeners

Kids need a little guidance to avoid stepping on stems or pulling on flowers too roughly. Visiting a flower farm a great chance to teach gentle hands and observation skills.
