Kicks & Cuts Back 2 School Bash

The #100Cuts Initiative in partnership with the 100 Black Men of Central Virginia is proud to present the annual Kicks & Cuts Back 2 School Bash, taking place Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.at the Cherry Avenue Boys & Girls Club in Charlottesville.
Designed to prepare students for a successful school year, the free community event will provide children and families with essential back-to-school resources in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The event brings together dozens of local businesses, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and community leaders committed to ensuring every child starts the school year looking and feeling their best.
This year’s Kicks & Cuts Back 2 School Bash will feature:
- Free haircuts and select hairstyling services
- New sneakers
- Free books to encourage literacy
- School supplies and community resources
- Games, music, food, and family activities
- Storytime and financial literacy experiences
- Special appearances by princesses, superheroes, and other beloved characters through Character Connections
- Hair shimmer provided by Glimmer Locks
- Interactive basketball activities hosted by Virginia Basketball Academy (VABA)
- Public safety vehicles and community engagement with the Charlottesville Police Department and Charlottesville Fire Department
